OUR STORY

Salt & Seed Partners didn’t begin with a business plan. It began with a partnership that had been building for many years.

We (Emily & Taylor) first met working at the same recruitment agency in 2019 and quickly formed a strong working relationship. Within a year, we were running a recruitment desk together, transforming it from underperforming to a high-performing, profitable part of the business. Through the challenges of COVID-19, we learned how to adapt, support their clients, and rely on each other.

From the beginning, it was clear we brought complementary strengths. Emily is commercially driven and direct, with a focus on sales and outcomes, while Taylor brings a calm, thoughtful approach, with a natural ability to create structure and think differently. Together, we balance each other and consistently elevate the work we do.

As our careers evolved, Emily moved into leadership and management roles, while Taylor transitioned into Internal HR and Talent Acquisition. Despite taking different paths, we remained close, not just as colleagues, but as friends. Supporting each other through major life milestones.

It was during our maternity leave, with our babies arriving just one month apart, that the idea of building something together began to take shape. What started as a simple conversation quickly became something more. We had both seen firsthand how often businesses were given generic, “one-size-fits-all” HR advice that didn’t truly reflect how those businesses operated.

That’s when we knew that there could be a better way.

We wanted to create something more personal, practical, and embedded. A service that felt like a true extension of the businesses we work with, not just an external provider.

Within a week, Salt & Seed was born. The name felt natural and aligned from the beginning, reflecting both contrast and balance, much like our partnership, as well as our connection to both the coast and country.

At its core, Salt & Seed Partners is built on trust, shared values, and a belief in doing things differently. More than anything, it remains what it has always been, a true partnership.
